SNS KASHMIR
SRINAGAR, MAY ,22 :
Chairman Jammu &Kashmir Civil society Abdul Qayoom wani while interacting with media in the backdrop of the age relaxation granted recently to KAS aspirants is in contravention with the past trend under which the age relaxation was granted under rule 8 clause (ii) and sub clause (i) of SRO103.
J&K has passed through worst period since 2016 and youth have got traumatized and jkpsc has not maintained the trend at par with UPSC.
Wani said it is unfortunate youth of J&K have not been treated at par with other states and UTs in relation with age and other criteria of state civil service examination.
The youth of j&k used to get age relaxation in UPSC those born before 1989 and which was to terminate in 2026 automatically but to the surprise of aspirants the age was curtailed untimely in 2018 .
Wani said as per the SRO103 KAS aspirants are to exhaust 6 attempts but till date aspirants appeared as per the SRO103 invoked in 2018 only twice, Government should allow the aspirants to utlise all the rest attempts then conduct exams as per the age clause contained in SRO103.
Government granted age relaxation to a particular section of age group on 11th may however not kept it the same as was granted in past under SRO274 and S.O 21 .
Jammu kashmir civil society urged upon LG administration to grant age relaxation in light of past orders under which age relaxation was granted by the Government, it is high time to engage the youth for the welfare of the society.
The age relaxation in other states of india for OM is Uttar pradesh having 40 years , Kerala 42, Rajasthan 40, Assam 38,Tripura 40, Himachal 42, Tamil Nadu 42, etc.
When jk state was reorganised in 2019 everything came to stand still and pandemic of 2019 added more to the sufferings and in 2021 exam was conducted which is yet to be concluded.
Since 2014 only four exams have been conducted, those eligible during all these years became ineligible because of the inefficiency of the JKPSC who could not held exams on yearly calender basis.
Qayoom wani expressed resentment on behalf of kas aspirants for playing with their career, these aspirants have spent lakhs of rupees on coaching till date to unfurl their dreams and pave a way towards Good Governance and prosperity of the JKUT.
He further said that I’m very much hopeful that administration will give a patient hearing to the demands of aspirants and grant them the chance to appear in exam, the age must be enhanced 37 for OM and 40 for reserved categories by 23 rd May 2022 as closing date for KAS exams is 26th May 2022 and General Administrative Department should implement the directions of Central Administrative Tribunal by 23 rd May 2022 as desired by the CAT.
A delegation of KAS aspirants also met chairman Jk civil society forum Qayoom Wani at his Tangmarg residence and apprised him about the step motherly treatment given to kas aspirants from jk .
Wani assured the delegation for full support from the leadership of JKCSF till their genuine demand is redressed.
