Religious scholars, devotees demand reconstruction shrine, prays for peace and prosperity of Kashmir

Baramulla: Thousand of devotees from across Kashmir valley who thronged the revered shrine of Kashmir valley’s renowned mystical stain of Hazrat Syed Janzab Wali (RA) on 604th Urs prayed for peace and prosperity in entire Muslim world particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.Like past legacy, the annual Urs of Hazrat Syed Janzab Wali (RA) was celebrated at Syed Janbaz Wali shrine with great devotion and religious enthusiasm. Devotees including elders, men, women and children gathered here to have glimpse of “Tubrookat” holy relics after every Nizmaz (prayer).While paying their obeisance at the Shrine devotees prayed for peace and prosperity of the state and Muslim world.“We are celebrating 604 th Urs of Hazrat Syed Janzab Wali (RA) with great devotion and thousands of devotees not only from Baramulla but from other parts of valley attend this Urs and seek blessing of Allah in the premises of this pious shrine of the revered Sofi saint,” informed Mutwali Dargah (caretaker shrine) Hazrat Syed Muhammad Janbaz Wali (RA) Baramulla Khursheed Ahmad Shah who has also complied booklet on the life of Hazrat Syed Muhammad Janbaz Wali (RA).“For centuries the shrine of Hazrat Syed Janbaaz Wali (RA) at Khanpora in Baramulla has remained anionic symbol of Islamic culture and civilization. The saint taught us religious tolerance, justice, equality and the teachings of Almighty Allah and our beloved prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SAW),” said Advocate Mudasir Naqasbandi another caretaker.On this occasion the streets were illuminated with traditional lights and the shrine was decorated with tiny electrical bulbs “Zool” which gave the shrine festinating look. Islamic scholars on this occasion highlighted the teachings of the Holy Quran and Prophet Mohammed SAW propagated by these Sofi saints like Syed Janbaz Wali RA.Thousands of devotees and caretakers of the Syed Janbaz Wali (RA) shrine demanded immediate reconstruction and development of shrine by Wakaf Board which needs immediate reconstruction.Thousands of devotees in one voice supported demand of caretaker of the shrine Khursheed Ahmed Shah who raised the issue while addressing the devotees on this occasion.Shah said, “Jammu and Kashmir Waqaf Board has totally neglected the shrine given its development and the shrine has been in shambles from last 11 years despite board getting handsome of amount more than 2 Corers every year from the shrine.” The locals while lashing out at the Wakf Board authorities said that since the time the board took control of some shrines in Kashmir which include shrine of Syed Janbaz Wali, they have miserably failed to develop it and instead were only interested in amassing wealth from these shrines. “If Wakf Board is unable to take care of the shrine then they have no right to control it. Let them give the control of shrine back to us. We will manage its affairs far better,” said Mushtaq Ahmad, a resident of Khanpora.On the occasion this year, a large number of devotees spent their time reciting verses from the holy Quran and prayed for peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.Hazrat Janbaz Wali RA is regarded as one among the great Sufi scholars who came from Iran some 600 years ago. His main aim was to spread the message of peace, love and humanity, the basic message of Islam. Syed Janbaz Wali, according to historians, visited the valley with his companions in 1421 AD, opted for Khanpora Baramulla as the centre of his mission and was laid to rest here. His shrine attracts pilgrims from throughout Kashmir.
