Rescue and search operation launched by police, Army and  locals

Gulmarg: A local tourist guide reportedly went missing in famous tourist destination Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday, a group of foreign tourists he was guiding informed police on Thursday.

A police official said as reported by a group of tourists, local tourist guide Firdous Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat of Katipora Tangmarg went missing while guiding a group of trekkers trekking from Kangdori towards Gulmarg.

“The tourists informed police that their guide halted on way while asking the tourists to continue the movement during late night on Wednesday. As the guide didn’t reach the destination, the trekkers approached police informing them the guide went missing,” the police official said.

After receiving the information, police launched immediate rescue operation to to trace the missing guide person.

“Three rescue teams are involved in the rescue operation besides  the army and locals involved in the search operation”, the police official told Kashmir Images on phone..
