BARAMULLA , FEBRUARY ,22 :

Traders Federation Baramulla on Saturday held an extraordinary meeting in Baramulla in which several issues pertaining to Baramulla and the J&K were discussed.

The meeting was chaired by Federation president Er Tariq Ahmad Mughloo and all the prominent stake holders were present in the meeting. Er Mughloo on the occasion discussed about the recent private members bill submitted in the J&K assembly seeking ban on the sale of alcohol in the UT.

Mughloo said that though this bill has been moved by three legislators of three different political parties but it should be supported by all the legislators as sale of alcohol and drug addiction are one of the biggest issues faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir and addiction has ruined hundreds of families in all the 20 districts of the UT.

Er Mughloo while supporting the bill moved by legislators requested all the legislators of the north Kashmir to support this bill inside assembly as it is related to our future especially our young generation. Mughloo hoped that government will take the sale of alcohol seriously and will impose ban on its sale. Mughloo further said that already several states especially Gujrat and Bihar have been declared as dry states of the country. He said time has come when similar order should be issued about J&K, already cross section of people and leaders of different political parties have sought ban on sale of alcohol.
