Srinagar, Jul 13 :

The transport authorities in Kashmir are all set to enforce stringent measures against the vehicles operating with expired registrations.

Sources privy to the development told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the efforts were underway to enhance road safety and ensure regulatory compliance for both commercial and private vehicles.

Sources informed that vehicles that have had their Fitness Certificates and Permits expired for more than six months will be added to a ‘Not to be Transacted’ list, adding that all vehicles with expired Registration Certificates will also be included in this list and seized.

To ensure effective enforcement, these lists will be made publicly available and shared with relevant enforcement agencies, including the traffic police and executive police. This move is aimed at facilitating the seizure of vehicles operating illegally,” sources said.

They added that regular action in this matter was crucial for maintaining public safety on the roads and ensuring compliance—(KNO)
