Srinagar, Mar 19 :
Tributes were paid on Tuesday to eminent journalist, writer and founder of Rising Kashmir, Dr. Syed Shujaat Bukhari, at his ancestral home where he is laid to rest.
A gathering of political leaders, journalists and well-wishers assembled to remember his contribution to journalism and public discourse. They recalled his role in shaping independent media in Kashmir and described him as a voice of reason and dialogue.
Among those present were MLA Wagoora Irfan Hafeez, Rising Kashmir Editor Hafiz Ayaz Gani, senior politician Suhail Bukhari, his son Tamheed Bukhari and others.
Speakers remembered Bukhari’s commitment to balanced reporting and his efforts to highlight issues of public importance. They said his legacy continues to guide young journalists in the region.
