People hail timely action of DFO Langate

Baramulla: Following the seizure of illicitly cut timber in forests of Rajwar Dongripora, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Langate has suspended a forest guard and a watcher for dereliction of duties as the locals alleged that the forest loot is going on allegedly in connivance with timber mafia in north Kashmir.
Sources said that recently forest protection force has seized huge quantity of green gold cut illegally in the forest compartment 39 Rajwar of Dongripora in forest division Langate.
Following the seizure, a suspension order issued by DFO Langate Forest division bearing number No:DFO/LGTICamp/05-06 dated 16/05/22 copy of which lies with SNS Kashmir reads, “Pending enquiry into the seizure of Sawn timber in forest compartment 39/Rajwar of Dogripora Beat, Mohd Akbar Khan Forest Guard and Bashir Ahmad Wani, Watcher are placed under Suspension with immediate effect.”
Sources further said that the order requests Conservator of Forests, Kashmir North Circle Sopore to take necessary action and place concerned Block Forest Officer Fayaz Ahmad Shah- Forester under immediate suspension besides Range Officer Rajwar has been directed to conduct enquiry and submit detailed report within two days positively.
Sources quoting DFO Langate Abdul Hamid Malla said, “The department has initiated investigation into the matter and those involved in the felling of green gold will be dealt as per law .” People of the area have hailed the efforts of DFO Langate for timely action.
