Srinagar, March 10:

Two militants affliated with Lashkar-i-Toiba were killed on Thrusday in an encounter with security forces in Naina Batapora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A senior police officer told GNS that two LeT militants were killed in an operation at Naina Batapora.

Both militants were given ample of chance to surrender, however they refused the surrender offer, the officer added.

Train service was also suspended between Banihal to Budgam district due the gunfight for precautionary measures.

IGP Kashmir told earlier that utmost precautions were taken to ensure no damage was done to the Mosque as militants were hiding in separate structure.

Earlier on a specific input generated by JK Police, the joint team of Police launched a cordon and search operation in the area.

As the joint team of forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces triggering off a gunfight.(GNS)
