Many hilly areas of Sub Division Uri remains cut off, power supply affected

JKNC District President Baramulla Dr Sajjad Shafi Uri urged administration to clear snow on roads and restore power supply

Baramulla: At least three structures including two residential houses and a primary school were damaged by heavy snowfall in different villages of north Kashmir’s Uri in Baramulla district.

Locals of Churanda Uri told Kashmir Images on phone that a rooftop of house of  Mohmmad Iqbal Khatana resident of Chunranda Uri near LoC was damaged due to heavy snowfall. However no loss of injury has been reported.

The affected family claimed that nobody from administration visited despite informing them about the incident.

In hilly village Panjnag Nowarunda, foundation wall of primary school got damaged due to snowfall. Meanwhile, resident house of Altaf Ahmad Bhat of Ramgai Kalgay Uri was baldy damaged after a rolling rock rammed into it.     

A local Mohammad Imran told Kashmir  Images on phone that  the border villages of Uri received  1-3 feet due to which roads of the frontier villages are closed and they remain cut off from the Uri town.

Meanwhile, many hilly areas of Sub Division Uri including Nawa, Runda, Gowalan, Sukhdar, Churanda, Batgrah, Sohra, Hathlanga, Mohthal, upper Nambla, upper Garkote, Zamoorpatan, Maya, Lachipora, Bijhama, Babagale, Limber, Hillan, Phalipora, Chotali, Dudran, Banali and Tarkajan Boniyar received fresh snowfall.

Many roads blocked and power supply to a large number of snow bound areas has been snapped in Sub Division Uri.

Meanwhile JKNC District President Baramulla Dr Sajjad Shafi Uri urged administration to Clear snow on roads and restore power supply on War footing Basis in District Baramulla especially far-flung areas of Sub Division Uri, Rafiabad, Tangmarg, Wagora, so that people do not suffer any more.
