One Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel who was critically injured during ongoing encounter between terrorists and security forces in the Udhampur district, succumbed to his injuries on Monday late evening, officials said.
Official sources told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, that an SOG personnel identified as Amjad Pathan who was critically injured earlier, has succumbed to his injuries.
Security forces had launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area following credible intelligence about the presence of terrorists. The operation escalated after the terrorists opened fire, leading to an ongoing exchange of gunfire.
Reinforcements have been rushed to the site, and the tight cordon remains in place. (KNC)
