Addresses workers convention in Sopore

SRINGAR , SEPTEMBER ,10 :

J&K Peoples Conference Senior Vice President Abdul Gani Vakil has emphasized the crucial need for INDIA Alliance to provide unequivocal clarity regarding their stance on the reinstatement of Article 370. Vakil asked whether Article 370 and Article 35A will be restored if parties from the INDIA Alliance come to power.

Vakil along with former MLA and senior PC leader Adv Bashir Ahmed Dar and District President Baramulla Asif Lone were addressing a workers convention in Sopore.

Vakil underscored the need for transparency regarding the stance of these INDIA Alliance on Article 370. He emphasized that if these parties were to collectively declare their intention to reverse the decisions taken on that fateful day, JKPC would extend its support to them.

Vakil also pointed out that certain members of the INDIA Alliance, including the Aam Aadmi Party, had supported for the abrogation of Article 370 and the relegation of Jammu and Kashmir into a Union Territory. Additionally, he highlighted the historical role played by the Congress party in contributing to the erosion of Article 370 before its eventual abrogation, suggesting a certain level of alignment between the Congress and the BJP on Jammu and Kashmir policy.

Furthermore, Mr. Vakil urged the central government to fulfill its commitments made in the hallowed halls of Parliament.
These commitments include the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and the expeditious conduct of assembly elections.

In his address, Mr. Vakil also emphasized the importance of undertaking confidence-building measures, launching pro-people initiatives, extending support to key economic sectors, and addressing the pressing issue of unemployment. These actions are perceived as vital steps in gaining the trust and confidence of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, fostering stability, and driving development in the region.
