3-member committee asked to submit report by tomorrow

Srinagar, Dec 19 :

Authorities on Friday formed a three-member committee to probe a viral video of GMC Handwara and asked it to submit its report by Saturday.

According to the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the Principal of GMC Handwara constituted a panel of senior doctors after a video surfaced showing a patient being moved outside the hospital on a trolley, allegedly after being denied an ambulance for an urgent CT scan.

The committee comprises Prof (Dr) Abdul Qayoom Lone (HOD Anesthesia), Prof (Dr) Javaid Ahmad Bhat (HOD Orthopedics) and Prof (Dr) Rafiq Ahmad Tagoo (HOD Dentistry).

The panel has been asked to submit its report to the Principal by 11 a.m. on December 20, 2025, for further action by the administration.

Earlier, Medical Superintendent Dr Aijaz Ahmad while speaking to KNO, acknowledged a technical snag in the CT scan machine but maintained that the patient’s attendants moved the patient “in haste” and that no formal ambulance request was made—(KNO)
