World Mental Health Day Celebrated At GMC Baramulla with Special Emphasis on Stress Management and Growing Drug Abuse
To celebrate World Mental Health Day 2023, the Department of Psychiatry Govt. Medical College Baramulla in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare Baramulla organized an academic program in the auditorium of the college today on 10th October 2023.
The event started with an interactive workshop on Stress Management in day to day life in which the students and employees from Department of Health, Education and ICDS actively participated.
The Principal GMC Baramulla, Prof(Dr) Ruby Reshi delved and elaborated on the theme of this year’s World Mental Health Day, Mental Health Is a Universal Human Right.
This was followed by addresses by HOD Psychiatry Dr Tajamul Hussain, Medical Superintendent GMC Baramulla Dr Parvaiz Masoodi, Vice Principal GDC Boys Baramulla Prof. Tariq Chalkoo.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina also spoke in the event.
The participants who have been trained at the Department of Psychiatry GMC Baramulla in the previous year were also felicitated.
An multi dimensional interactive panel discussion was also held on the topic Drug Abuse in which SSP Baramulla ,Mr. Amod Ashok Nagpure(IPS) and Mufti Tanveer Ahmad among other dignitaries participated.
The event concluded with felicitation of panelists/dignitaries and a Vote of thanks by HOD Psychiatry GMC Baramulla.
