Raises Concern Over Engineer Rashid’s Hunger Strike; Highlights plight of hundreds of Kashmiri prisoners

Srinagar, Feb 06:

Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara Sajad Lone has voiced concern over the hunger strike of MP Engineer Rashid inside jail.

Taking to X, Lone wrote, ‘Regardless of political differences, let’s spare a thought for Engineer Rashid sahib, who is on a hunger strike.’

He also shed light on the plight of hundreds of Kashmiris imprisoned far from their homes and families.

“Many of them have spent decades in jails, in the most inhospitable and hostile conditions,” he stated.

Highlighting the ever-changing nature of politics, Lone remarked, “If yesterday’s hero is today’s villain, today’s villain can be tomorrow’s hero. That is political evolution.”

He underscored that the power to shape discourse must rest with the people, not be imposed upon them.
