Sopore, Dec 07 :

A 10 feet long punt gun was seized from the Banks of Wullar lake, after poacher fled from the spot in Watlab area of Sopore in northern Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said here Wednesday.

“Today morning one punt gun locally fabricated 10 feet long, was seized by Anti-poaching Control Room of Forest Protection Force and Wular Conservation and Management Authority banks of wular lake near Watlab,” officials told the Kashmir news Service (KNS).

They said that a case under relevant sections of laws has been registered and futher investigation is going on.

Notably, punt gun is a type of extremely large shotgun used in wetlands to shoot large numbers of waterfowl for commercial hunting.(KNS)
