Srinagar, Dec 27 :

Two labourers died while cleaning an unattended well in Lasjan area of Srinagar outskirts on Tuesday.

A medico at SMHS hospital confirmed to the news agency Kashmir News Trust that two workers who were brought to the hospital in unconscious state died in the hospital.

Sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that two labourers were found unconscious while cleaning an unused well in Lasjan area. They were shifted to SMHS Hospital where they were declared dead.

Sources identified the victims as 45 years old Zakir Ahmed of Poonch and 38-years old Talib Ahmed, a resident of Gool Gulabgarh.

The presence of Carbon dioxide at the bottom of the unused well is prima facie attributed to the cause of death.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case under relevant sections of law. KNT
