All LS MPs from UT also to be nominated; Speaker to send names within 1-month to ECI after constitution of Delimitation Commission

The Speaker of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly will have to nominate five MLAs as associate members of the Delimitation Commission.
According to the proposed delimitation bill, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the commission shall associate 10 members with itself-five from the Lok Sabha and five from the Legislative Assembly-for the purpose of assisting it in its duties in respect of each State and Union Territory with a legislature.
While the Lok Sabha Speaker will nominate five MPs from J&K, the Speaker of the J&K Assembly will be empowered to nominate five MLAs.
As per the bill, the Speaker of the J&K Assembly will have to nominate the names of five associate members within one month from the date of constitution of the Commission, while the Speaker of the Lok Sabha will have to nominate five members within two months.
These nominations must be sent to the Chief Election Commissioner. If the nominations are made by a Legislative Assembly Speaker, they must also be sent to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
All five MPs from J&K would be nominated as associate members given that their total strength is similar. All eyes will be on 5 MLAs to be nominated by assembly Speaker—(KNO)
