MD JJM Syed Abid visits Tangmarg, Inspects Ongoing Projects under JJ Mission

Mission Director Jal Jeeven Mission Syed Abid Rasheed Shah today visited Tangmarg Baramulla and inspected various ongoing projects being executed under Jal Jeevan Mission.

Mission Director JJM was accompanied by Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Department Kashmir Basharat Ahmad Kawoos,Superintendent Engineer Hydraulic Circle Sopore Mohammad Haneef.

During his visit, Mission Director JJM inspected Lalpora WSS at Drung Tangmarg which is being executed under Jal Jeevan Mission at an estimated cost of 1197.52 lacs with 0.75 lac gallons SR. It was given out that tthe Lalpora WSS will benefit about 1266 House Holds with 10585 Souls.
Mission Director JJM Syed Abid directed for early completion of the scheme with instant restoration of road cuts wherever required.

Interacting with the Pani Samitis at Chanpora Chandilora Mission Director JJM said that Jal Jeeven Mission is a mass movement of potable water to every soul. He asserted that village communities must develop sense of ownership of the projects for longer sustainability of projects.

MD JJM Syed Abid also conducted water testing of the water being supplied to the House holds at Chanpora Tangmarg for its quality and said that the water testing kits have been supplied to the Pani Samitis across Jammu and Kashmir. These water testing kits are used as an indicator for measuring the chlorine content and turbidity of the potable water.

Mission Director JJM also visited Heing Kashmatipora WSS at Kulhama Tangmarg which is being executed at an estimated cost of 940.23 lacs under Jal Jeevan Mission. MD JJM also laid foundation of raw water source for Heing Kashmatipora WSS project and interacted with PRI’s and Village committee.

During his tour, Mission Director JJM Syed Abid Rasheed paid a visit to Bonichakal Jeelpora and took first hand appraisal of the Water Supply Scheme project being executed at an estimated cost of 572 lacs benefiting a population of 18 thousand under Jal Jeevan Mission.

Interacting with the locals of the area, MD JJM said that Jal Jeevan Mission is priority of the government and expressed his gratitude for District Administration Baramulla for speedy implementation and execution of the projects under Jal Jeevan Mission.

MD JJM also visited WSS Kanispora where Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Kashmir briefed the Mission Director that WSS Kanispora is being constructed at an estimated cost of 1074 lacs which will benifit designed population of 12 thousand souls.

Later, MD JJM Syed Abid chaired a meeting of the Jal Shakti department in presence of DC Baramulla Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar and took a detailed review of the ongoing projects having been taken up under Jal Jeevan Mission.

Informing the chair, Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Basharat Ahmad Kawoos said that out of 153 thousand target House Holds of Baramulla, 98 thousand Households have been covered with potable tap water connections under Jal Jeevan Mission.

On the occasion DC Baramulla Dr Sehrish Asgar said that water quality is a challenge in some of the blocks of Baramulla which need to be resolved on priority.
