Ganderbal, Oct 5 :

Ganderbal Press Association has elected a new body after conducting fresh polls on Thursday.

The elections were conducted at Degree College Ganderbal in the presence of the Chief Guest ADDC Ganderbal Mr Mushtaq Simnani and Principal Mrs Fozia.

Sofi Ayaz of Times Now was the election observer.

Seven candidates were in the fray. Out of 48 total votes polled one vote was rejected.

Mir Aftab (Punjab Kesari) was elected the new president of the Association while others who were elected to different posts included Vice President Ghulam Nabi Raina (Kashmir Uzma /KNT), General Secretary Saleem Wani (Gulistan TV), Spokesperson Haadi Hidayat (ANN) and Treasurer Raja Syed from KNO.

After being elected to the new post, President Mir Aftab assured that the Ganderbal Press Association would stand for genuine Journalists of the district through thick and thin.
