” Future of any society rests on its young generation” Qayoom Wani
Srinagar, November 14, 2024 :
On the occasion of Children’s Day, Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF) urges all stakeholders—parents, teachers, government institutions, and civil society—to join hands for the holistic well-being of our children. In a statement issued here today Chairman JKCSF Abdul Qayoom Wani said future of any society rests on its young generation, and it is our duty to nurture them with strong moral values, rich in Kashmiri Tarbiah (upbringing), and shield them from the growing challenges of modern times.
Children today face serious threats from social evils, particularly drug addiction and the unregulated use of social media. These issues not only endanger their health but also compromise the ethical foundation of our society. To address this, Wani emphasizes the importance of vigilant parenting and the proactive role of teachers in monitoring children’s behavior, both online and offline.
He also calls upon the government to introduce robust measures to combat drug abuse and integrate moral education into the curriculum. Civil society organizations must amplify awareness campaigns to educate families and communities about the dangers lurking in modern lifestyles.
Kashmir’s rich cultural and moral traditions provide a strong framework for raising responsible, compassionate, and value-driven individuals. On this Children’s Day, let us pledge to guide our children with care and wisdom, ensuring they grow in an environment that fosters integrity and purpose.JKCSF remains committed to this cause and appeals to every individual to contribute to building a secure and nurturing society for our future generations۔
