Six days after inadvertently crossing Line of Control (LoC), a resident of Pak was handed over to the Pakistan Army in Poonch district on Monday, officials said. Saliq Hussain son of Khalid Hussain of Bandi Abasspur had crossed the LoC on December 11 and was immediately taken into custody by the Indian Army.

Officials told GNS that the questioning of the individual revealed that he had lost his way and crossed the LoC. Soon the Indian Army established a contact with their Pakistani counterparts and Saliq was handed over to them at Chakan Da Bagh this evening after completion of all formalities.

The gate at Chakan Da Bagh opened at 1700 hours and closed within 25 minutes to complete the handing over of Saliq, they added. (GNS)
