Mumbai, November ,08 :
The State Investigation Agency (SIA) Jammu and Kashmir has arrested the main kingpin of a narco-terror module from Mumbai International Airport. The accused, Mohd. Arshad @ Asif, resident of Degwar Terwan, Poonch, had been absconding since 2023 and was operating from Saudi Arabia.
The case pertains to a 2023 operation in the Pir Panjal region, where security forces recovered 29 kg heroin, one IED, six hand grenades, one AK-56 rifle, four pistols, and 70 live rounds. Eight people were involved in the module, two of whom had fled abroad.
Arshad, the key handler and link between Pakistan-based handlers and local operatives, had facilitated the travel of co-accused Laquit Ahmed to Dubai and organised a secret meeting to revive narco-terror activities in Pir Panjal.
He was apprehended following a Look-Out Circular and Non-Bailable Warrant issued earlier by SIA Jammu. His arrest marks a major success in SIA’s crackdown on cross-border narco-terror networks.
