The Prime Minister has unveiled the name Seva Teerth for the complex housing the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) and the Cabinet Secretariat.
Since 2014, the Modi government has taken steady steps to move away from symbols of India’s colonial past and usher in a mindset shift. Among the major changes are: South Block renamed as Seva Teerth; Central Secretariat as Kartavya Bhavan; Rajpath as Kartavya Path; Race Course Road as Lok Kalyan Marg; and Raj Bhavans/Raj Niwas as Lok Bhavan/Lok Niwas.
