Srinagar, Apr 8 :

National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday stressed that dialogue remains the only viable path to resolve international conflicts, saying war has never been a solution.

Speaking to media persons, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC), Abdullah said he was thankful that countries like the United States and Iran have shown willingness to sit across the table and resolve issues through talks.

“War is not the solution to anything. It has never happened, nor will it ever happen. Therefore, I would like to congratulate all these countries who are willing to sit and talk,” he said.

He expressed concern over the recent conflict, saying it has caused widespread destruction and impacted the entire world, particularly due to its effect on global energy resources and economies.

Abdullah said the prolonged tensions have also affected people from Jammu and Kashmir working in Gulf countries, whose livelihoods depend on stability in the region.

Highlighting the need for peace, he said, “Humanity should win. We want peace, not war,” adding that continued conflict would only worsen global problems.

He also emphasized that India should pursue friendly relations with all countries and play a constructive role in promoting peace, while urging all nations, including Pakistan, to move away from conflict and adopt the path of brotherhood.

On the ongoing developments, Abdullah said he hopes the negotiations will succeed and lead to lasting peace, warning that escalation would have serious economic consequences, including rising fuel prices and hardships for common people. (KNC)
