Says “People are living with fear and uncertainty; need for restraint and dialogue”

Srinagar, Apr 9 :

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday addressed a gathering, where she spoke on the prevailing global conflicts and their wider implications, while also reflecting on the sentiments and concerns of people.

Addressing the gathering, Mehbooba Mufti as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, said that the current global situation remains uncertain and difficult, particularly for countries like Pakistan. “This world is in a state of war, it will end, but when, I don’t know. We can only hope that peace prevails,” she said.

Referring to developments in West Asia, she expressed concern over escalating tensions involving countries like Israel and Iran. “If world leaders lose control, the situation can worsen, but we believe that ultimately justice and peace will prevail,” she remarked.

Emphasizing faith and resilience, she said, “We hope that truth and justice will win in the end,” while calling for calm and understanding in these challenging times.

Highlighting local concerns, the PDP leader said people continue to face fear and uncertainty. “People are not just afraid of conflict, but also of the situation around them. These concerns need to be addressed with sensitivity,” she added.

She urged all stakeholders to exercise restraint and work towards dialogue and peace, saying that stability and harmony must remain the priority. (KNC)
