Younger sister of senior journalist Karamat Qayoom passed away

BWJA, NKJA,PCG and several organizations express condolence

Baramulla: Sister of senior journalist and Chairman Baramulla Working Journalist Associaiton (BWJA) and patron Human Aid Society Kashmir Karamat Qayoom passed away on Tuesday after brief illness at her residence Noor Colony Ushkara Baramulla.

A large number of people participated in the funeral prayers of the deceased wife of Mushtaq Ahmad Lone at her ancestral graveyard in Noor Colony Ushkara Baramulla besides people from cross section society including socio-economic, political, law and religious organizations have expressed their condolences and solidarity with bereaved family and renowned journalist Karamat Qayoom.

A delegation of BWJA led by General Secretary Umar Rashid who was flanked by  senior journalists Irshad Ahmad Bhat, Majeed Sheeri and Reyaz Rashid visited the family to express their deep sympathies with the bereaved family. North Kashmir Journalist Association (NKJA) also expressed condolences and sympathies with the bereaved family.

Meanwhile,he members of Press Club Gulmarg have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of the younger sister of senior journalist and Chairman of BWJA, Haji Karamat Qayoom, who passed away today after a brief illness.

In a condolence message issued here, Chairman Press Club Gulmarg B.A. Sagar, General Secretary Aadil Dar, along with all members of the Press Club, conveyed their heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family, especially to veteran journalist Haji Karamat Qayoom during this difficult time.

The members described the demise as a great loss to the family and prayed for strength and patience for the bereaved relatives to bear the irreparable loss. They also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and for Jannat-ul-Firdous.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman B.A. Sagar said that Haji Karamat Qayoom has always served journalism with dedication and sincerity, and the entire journalist fraternity stands in solidarity with him and his family in this hour of grief.

General Secretary Aadil Dar said that the thoughts and prayers of all members of Press Club Gulmarg are with the bereaved family, and prayed that Almighty Allah grants the departed soul the highest place in paradise.

The members of Press Club Gulmarg also joined together in offering Fateha and prayers for the departed soul, expressing solidarity and support with the mourning family.
