New Delhi, June 1:

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has appointed senior IPS officer Vidhi Kumar Birdi (AGMUT: 2003 batch) as Inspector General (IG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on deputation basis.

According to an official memorandum issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on June 1, 2026, the competent authority has approved Birdi’s appointment as Inspector General (Level-14 in the pay matrix) in the CRPF against an existing vacancy, under the usual terms and conditions of central deputation.

The order further directs the concerned authorities to relieve the officer immediately to enable him to take up his new assignment at the Centre.

Vidhi Kumar Birdi, a senior AGMUT cadre IPS officer, has held several important policing and administrative assignments during his service career. His appointment to the CRPF is expected to strengthen the leadership of the country’s largest paramilitary force.
