Sopore, June 18th :

Sopore Police, in coordination with the Drug Control Authorities, sealed two medical shops in Main Chowk, Sopore, during a joint inspection under the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan.

The shops were found violating provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act by allegedly selling prescription medicines without valid prescriptions and overcharging customers.

Police said the action was taken after completing legal formalities and warned that strict action will continue against those violating drug laws. Chemists have been urged to strictly follow regulations regarding the sale of Scheduled H, H1 and X category medicines.
