STF to handle paper leaks under 2024 Act and ensure fast trials

New Delhi, July 24

Delhi Police has constituted a Special Task Force within its Crime Branch to investigate offences related to paper leaks and other irregularities in public examinations under the Public Examinations Prevention of Unfair Means Act 2024.

The STF was formed with the approval of the Commissioner of Police Delhi, officials said on Friday.

The task force will conduct prompt professional and comprehensive investigations into offences linked to examinations conducted by key recruitment bodies including Union Public Service Commission UPSC, Staff Selection Commission SSC, Railway Recruitment Boards RRBs, Institute of Banking Personnel Selection IBPS, Ministries and departments of the Central Government and their attached and subordinate offices for staff recruitment, National Testing Agency NTA, and any other authority notified by the Central Government from time to time.

In addition to investigations the STF will coordinate closely with prosecuting agencies to ensure expeditious disposal of cases. It will also work to ensure that trials in examination related offences are conducted on a day to day basis.

The Special Task Force will be headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Crime Branch Delhi Police. The Special Commissioner of Police Crime Branch will exercise overall supervision and administrative control and issue necessary directions to ensure effective probe and diligent prosecution.

Officials said the move is aimed at strengthening the response to unfair means in competitive exams and maintaining the integrity of public recruitment processes. (GNS)
