Sopore, Sep 24 :
A 20-year-old youth succumbed to his injuries while another was critically injured after the motorcycle they were travelling on collided with another motorcycle near Fruit Mandi in Sopore on Wednesday.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that both riders sustained injuries in the collision and were shifted to SDH Sopore, from where they were referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment.
The official said that one of the injured, identified as Haziq Maqbool Mir (20), son of Mohammad Maqbool Mir a resident of Kensoo, Bandipora, succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura.
The other injured, identified as Aashiq Ahmad Mir (30), son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir a resident of Wagora, Baramulla, is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation.—(KNO)
