Anantnag, Feb 20:
Cabinet Minister for Education, Health and Medical Education, and Social Welfare, Sakeena Masood Itoo, inaugurated the Cathlab and Block A of MMABM Associated Hospital GMC Anantnag, marking the beginning of a new era in healthcare in the region.
GMC Anantnag has become the first among the new medical colleges in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir to have a dedicated Cathlab. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Honorable MLAs, Principal GMC Anantnag, and other officials from the health and medical education department.
Sakeena Itoo emphasized the importance of healthcare, stating that it must be the top priority for everyone. She urged doctors and healthcare workers to uphold the trust of the people and work selflessly for patient care.
The Cabinet Minister acknowledged the shortage of manpower but assured that the government is committed to addressing the issue in the near future. She also shared her personal dream of becoming a doctor and relieving the pain and sufferings of patients.
Principal and Dean of GMC Anantnag, Prof Dr Rukhsana Najeeb, described the event as historic and praised the leadership and commitment of Sakeena Itoo.
The Coordinator New Medical Colleges and Director Family Welfare also thanked the government for its support in upgrading the infrastructure and manpower of GMC Anantnag.
The inauguration of the Cathlab and Block A is seen as a significant relief to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially those living in south Kashmir and Pir Panjal region. The trio cardiologists of GMC Anantnag were also honored for their excellent work and commitment.
