Abdul Gani Mir, Tsewang Namgyal Kalon alongside three other Indian Police Service officers from Jammu and Kashmir are among a total of thirty-nine empanelled as ADG/ADG Equivalent in Government of India.

Apart from Mir (UT 1994 ADG/ADGE) and Namgyal (UT 1995, ADG/ADGE), the other three IPS officers from Jammu and Kashmir who have made it to the prestigious list include; Shiv Darshan (UT 1995 ADG/ADGE), Satish Shiramaji Khandare (UT 1995 ADG/ADGE) and Rajesh Kumar (UT 1995 ADG/ADGE).

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, as per an order a copy of which lies with GNS, has approved empanelment of the Indian Police Service officers for holding posts at the Centre.
