Srinagar, May 10:

The anti-narcotics campaign across Kashmir has gathered significant momentum, with authorities intensifying enforcement measures and public outreach under the ongoing 100-day anti-drug initiative launched by the Lieutenant Governor-led administration.

According to figures shared by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir on X, a total of 441 FIRs have been registered while 444 drug peddlers have been arrested across the Valley since the commencement of the campaign.

Officials said that over 387 kilograms of narcotic substances have been seized during multiple crackdowns carried out by law enforcement agencies. In addition, illegal poppy cultivation spread across 165 kanals of land has been destroyed as part of the ongoing drive against drug trafficking.

The Divisional Commissioner said the coordinated action reflects the administration’s firm resolve to eradicate the drug menace through strict law enforcement and active public participation.

“Kashmir has spoken — drugs have no place in our society,” the statement said, urging collective efforts to ensure a drug-free Kashmir.(KNC)
