Srinagar,December 18 :
Former minister and senior Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (JKPC) leader Syed Basharat Bukhari on Friday expressed dismay over the non issuance of ration cards to more than 15000 families in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Bukhari in a statement issued here said that such a crisis has engulfed thousands of households, throwing the families into distress.
The administration, said Bukahri, is not even deeming it necessary to issue ration cards to the families who have shifted out of joint families and started new households. While these families are registered in the joint family ration cards however new ration cards for nuclear families have not been issued. This is causing immense difficulties in procurement of ration for such households.
Bukhari said it is unfortunate to find those at the helm turning a blind eye towards peoples’ needs and leaving the economically downtrodden masses at the mercy black marketers.
The PC leader has demanded an immediate issuance of ration cards to the such households and impressed upon the government to turn assiduous towards people of Baramulla.
