Srinagar, Oct 10 :
Leader of Opposition and senior BJP leader Sunil Sharma on Saturday said that BJP has decided to launch district-wise protests across Jammu and Kashmir to become the voice of the poor, alleging that the present government is disconnected from common people.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Sharma as per GNS said a meeting of all BJP district presidents and general secretaries was held today where it was decided that the party, as the main opposition, will agitate on the streets against the government.
“We tried to raise public issues inside the Assembly but the government is only busy in reshuffling and saving its own house. The government is far from the poor. BJP will now fight on roads and in every district,” Sharma said.
He alleged that protests in Delhi are part of a conspiracy to destabilize the country by creating unrest among youth on the lines of Nepal and Bangladesh, and criticized opposition parties for targeting constitutional authorities like the CEC.
On Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, Sharma said he fully supports it, saying illegal voters from Bangladesh and Pakistan should not be allowed to vote and deletion of shifted, dead and untraceable voters is not “vote chori”.
Replying to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s remarks on delimitation, Sharma said if delimitation was wrong then National Conference was its biggest beneficiary and Omar should morally resign.
He also slammed Congress and PDP for what he called double standards and attempting to create anarchy as they have lost public support.(GNS)
