One engineer died and two others were critically injured in a boiler explosion at Fruit Mandi Aglar in Shopian on Wednesday evening, triggering panic in the area.
Reports said three engineers were repairing a steamer/boiler at the mandi when it suddenly exploded, leaving all critically injured. They were rushed to District Hospital Shopian, where Saurabh Singh of Aligarh succumbed to injuries.
The other injured, Dileep Kumar and Ram Kumar, also from Aligarh, are undergoing treatment. Police have taken cognizance and started investigation to ascertain the cause of the blast.
