Announcement evokes enthusiasm; locals say they have been waiting for something work to start since long

Budgam, Aug 07 :

Construction has commenced on a new 125-bed district hospital in Rmreshipora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, a move expected to transform local healthcare services.

District Commissioner Akshay Labroo visited the site today to inspect the initial stages of development and highlight the project’s significance.

According to details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Labroo underscored that this new facility, a key initiative approved by the Administrative Council and led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, will address a critical gap in healthcare for Budgam.

“Today is a momentous occasion for all, as the demand for building a district hospital in Budgam was fulfilled today, with the groundwork on mobilization and survey starting,” he said.

“Recently, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha gave approval for this project and laid the foundation stone, and it’s a happy moment for the whole of Budgam that the work on the ground officially started today,” he added.

The announcement has been met with enthusiasm from the community. Sajad Ahmad, a local resident, expressed relief, saying, “we’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time. This hospital will make accessing medical care much easier and more efficient for us.”

Moreover, the project is being closely monitored by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and involves collaboration across several government departments. The development of this new hospital is seen as a significant step forward for Budgam, demonstrating the administration’s dedication to enhancing public services and meeting the region’s healthcare needs—(KNO)
