Jammu, Oct 22nd :

In a stern judicial rebuke over alleged non-compliance with its directives, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has ordered an immediate freeze on the salary of the Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), until further orders.

The Tribunal noted that despite an explicit warning issued on September 29, 2026, the officer neither implemented the court’s directions nor appeared during the subsequent hearing, prompting the Tribunal to invoke the coercive measure.

Taking cognisance of the continued defiance, the Tribunal directed the concerned Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) to withhold the officer’s salary forthwith and refrain from releasing it until further judicial orders.

The case, Rakshit Maria versus M. Raju, Commissioner Secretary and Another, arises from C.P. No. 295/2025 in O.A. No. 1013/2022.
The matter has been scheduled for further consideration on November 3, 2026. (CNS)
