Srinagar, Jul 24 :
The Centre on Friday informed Parliament that the National Medical Commission (NMC) does not maintain data on the number of Indian students who had taken admission in medical colleges in Pakistan before the advisory issued on April 28, 2022.
Replying to a question by Srinagar MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi in the Lok Sabha, Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, as reported by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the NMC seeks security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for students who had secured admission in medical colleges in Pakistan before April 13, 2022, from time to time.
The minister said the MHA issues security clearance based on inputs received from security agencies. After receiving the clearance, the NMC processes the applications expeditiously for the issuance of Eligibility Certificates (ECs), the House was informed—(KNO)
