Srinagar, Aug 29 :

Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters has ordered transfer of a sensitive POCSO case registered at Police Station Chatroo in Kishtwar to Crime Branch J&K for detailed investigation.

As per Order issued dated today, sanction is accorded for transfer of investigation of FIR No. 34/2026 registered under Sections 61(2), 65(1), 90, 91, 92 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 4, 6, 8, 10, 17 of POCSO Act of PS Chatroo.

The case pertains to death of a minor girl after alleged illegal medical termination of pregnancy. Police had earlier arrested six accused including a teacher and a nurse in the case.

Given the gravity and sensitivity of the matter and to ensure thorough and professional probe, further investigation has now been entrusted to Crime Branch J&K, officials said.SNS
