The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Wednesday conducted simultaneous searches at two residential houses in Srinagar in connection with a case registered under provisions of the IPC and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), officials said.

Officials told the news agency that one search was carried out at Bagh-i-Mehtab at the residence of Altaf Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Jabbar Bhat, who has been residing in Pakistan since 1990.

Simultaneously, another CIK team conducted a search at Sheikh-ul-Alam Colony, Nowgam, at the residence of Mukhtar Ahmad Baba, son of Mohammad Yaseen Baba, who has been residing in Pakistan since 2022.

The searches were conducted in connection with FIR No. 04/2026 registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar under Sections 505 and 153A of the IPC, and Sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Officials said further details would be shared as the investigation progresses.
