Inquiry officer issues public notice, asks people to share information

Rajouri, Feb 22 :

The Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, who is also Additional District Magistrate and inquiry officer of magisterial inquiry ordered after last year’s December 16 firing incident outside an army camp in Rajouri, issued a public notice asking people to share their information regarding this incident.

As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the firing incident had happened on December 16, 2022 outside Alpha Gate Phalyana army camp in which two locals lost their lives while a man from Uttrakhand had received injuries.

Deceased include Surinder Kumar son of Om Parkash and Kamal Kishore son of Radhu Ram, residents of Phalyana Rajouri while injured is Anil Kumar son of Bali Ram resident of Uttrakhand.

After this firing incident on December 16, District Magistrate Rajouri Vikas Kundal had ordered a magisterial probe with Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Sachin Dev Singh was appointed as inquiry officer.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Sachin Dev Singh issued a formal public notice in which public has been informed that any person who has knowledge and wishes to share input regarding the incident in writing, oral or any other input may share the same within weeks’ time enabling the enquiry officer to conclude the enquiry.

“The inputs can also be shared telephonically or through WhatsApp on Mob. No. 9596510500,” the notice said.

In this December 16 firing incident, the Army said the two civilians were killed in the firing by terrorists while the incident sparked protests by the villagers who also pelted stones on army camp—(KNO)
