Baramulla, January 23: In order to finalise the arrangements for Republic Day, 2023 celebrations, the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today chaired a meeting of concerned officers at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex, here.

The meeting discussed various issues with regard to peaceful celebration of Republic Day in the district. It was given out in the meeting that the main function in the district will be held at District Police Lines Baramulla and similar functions will also be held in all sub divisions of the district.

During the meeting, It was informed that the Chief Guest will hoist National Flag at District Police Lines Baramulla and take salute of the march-past, which will be presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRP, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and School Children.Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sehrish Asgar asked the security agencies to ensure fool proof security at all venues throughout the district.

She also exhorted upon the concerned functionaries of all departments to ensure all the arrangements including seating arrangements, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first-aid and Public Address System are put in place for the said national event.

Moreover, In view of current winter, the DC asked the concerned engineers to keep men and machinery ready in case of snowfall.Later, in a seperate meeting, the DC also finalized plan/ activities for celebration of 13th National Voters Day in the district during which she directed all concerned officers for smooth conduct of the programme.
