Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure, on Wednesday said the fight against the drug menace will be his top priority, calling for active public support to make the district drug-free.

Addressing the media on his first day in office, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Nagpure said drug abuse is emerging as a serious concern and needs collective action. “We are committed to making Anantnag drug-free, but this requires cooperation from the public,” he said.

He urged citizens to share information, assuring complete confidentiality of informants.

The SSP also announced that his office will remain open on all working days without prior appointments. “Anyone can walk in with grievances or information and meet us directly,” he said.

Nagpure further shared his contact number, stating it will remain available 24×7 for calls and messages, including on WhatsApp, to report crime or drug-related activities.

He expressed confidence that joint efforts between police and the public will help bring stability and curb the drug threat in the district.— (KNC)
