In an initiative to streamline the resource management in schools and enriching the educational experiences of the students, the department of school education Baramulla today held a day long orientation program for the district and block officials on Vidyanjali and TOPS schemes.
The orientation program was presided by the Economic Advisor to Department of School Education, Ministry of Education (Govt. Of India) , Ms. A. Srija (IES) and was attended by the Principal Secretary to Govt, School Education Department, J&K, UT, Alok Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. Tasaduq Hussain Mir, Rakesh Magotra, Project Director, Samagra Shikhsa, Chief Education Officer, Baramulla, and other officers and officials from all the blocks from the education department.
Throughout the program, attendees received comprehensive training on the Vidyanjali online portal, initiated by the Ministry of Education. This platform acts as a central hub where volunteers, schools, and organizations can come together to collaborate and contribute to the education sector.
The training covered a range of activities on the portal, including volunteer registration, school enrollment, activity posting, utilizing the resource library, and utilizing feedback and evaluation mechanisms with an aim to promote and enhance community engagement in education landscape.
Meanwhile, an orientation session was also held on promoting sports through the government scheme TOPS (Target Olympic Podium Scheme) which plays a crucial role in nurturing India’s sporting talent, fostering a culture of excellence, and elevating the country’s presence on the global sports stage.
During the session, participants gained valuable insights into the various components of the TOPS initiative, including the ways to identify athletes, personalized support mechanisms, high-performance training protocols, international exposure opportunities, and financial assistance provisions.
