In view of the forthcoming Darbar move and its functioning at Jammu, Dr Mohd Haseeb Mughal, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Traffic Range Jammu, reviewed the traffic management and regulatory arrangements put in place to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the shifting of offices from Srinagar to Jammu and subsequent functioning at Jammu, a comprehensive meeting was convened at the conference hall of DPL Jammu last night which was attended by SSP Traffic City Jammu Sh Amit Basin, Additional Superintendents of Police (Traffic) City Sh Arvinder Singh, DySPs Traffic Dr Sunniya Wani, DySP Tilak Raj Bhardwaj, all DTIs, SOs and other field officers.

During the meeting, Dr Mohd Haseeb Mughal, IPS, took a detailed briefing from the officers regarding the deployment plan, route arrangements and preparedness of men, material and machinery to facilitate the movement of official convoys and essential supplies. He emphasized upon ensuring effective coordination among the concerned agencies for maintaining seamless traffic flow, especially at critical junctions and bottlenecks.

The DIG Traffic Range Jammu directed the officers to ensure visible presence of traffic personnel on all vital routes, junctions and diversion points to regulate and monitor the movement of vehicles.

He also stressed on timely dissemination of traffic advisories through media and social platforms to keep the general public informed about diversions and alternate routes.

Dr Mohd Haseeb Mughal, IPS, further instructed that special attention be paid to the safety of commuters and the convenience of the general public, ensuring minimum inconvenience during the Darbar period.

He also reviewed arrangements for towing vehicles, removal of roadside encroachments, and proper signals at diversion points.

While appreciating the efforts of the officers for maintaining discipline on city roads, the DIG Traffic urged all ranks to remain vigilant and dedicated in their duties, reiterating that efficient traffic regulation is essential for public convenience and image of the department.

The meeting concluded with directions for enhanced field supervision, better enforcement and proactive communication with citizens to ensure a smooth and orderly traffic movement during the Darbar at Jammu.

He stressed that seamless Coordination with all the stakeholders at Jammu is the key to better and smooth Traffic management during Darbar.
