Police on Monday said they have booked social media news group ‘The Real Kashmir’ for spreading fake news on social media.
Police spokesperson said that Shopian police registered FIR under relevant sections of law against the handler of Facebook news portal THE REAL KASHMIR NEWS for spreading fake and and baseless news with the intention to mislead the general public about the Chandigam Lolab encounter and investigation has been set into motion, it reads
Statement further reads that, General public is once again requested not to pay heed towards these rumours and legal action will be taken against those spreading fake and baseless information on the social media, reads a statement.
