BANIHAL NOVEMBER, 14 :

A man and his minor daughter were killed while his wife was injured after a truck rammed into their private car on Srinagar-Jammu national highway in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

An official said that a truck heading towards Kashmir hit several vehicles, including a car and two passenger cabs coming from the opposite direction in Makarkoot area, 17 kilometres from Banihal.

He said that a private car bearing registration number JK13E : 8524 in which a Sikh family from south Kashmir’s Tral was travelling towards Jammu was badly damaged in the accident. The deceased have been identified driver Jatinder Singh 33, and 3 year old baby Navdeep Kour. The injuried lady has been identified as 30 year old Rimple Kour.

The driver of the car and his minor daughter died on the spot while his wife suffered injuries following which she was shifted to PHC Ramsoo for treatment.

The official said that the woman along with another injured was shifted to SDH Banihal for specialized treatment.Reports said that the mishap took place after the truck driver lost control after suffering a brake failure.(CNS)
