Residents of the Hawal and its adjoining areas in Downtown staged protest against installation of Smart Meters.
Females of area gathered at Hawal Chowk and chanted slogans to mark their protest.
They told News Agency Buland Awaaz (BAN) that they are poor and cannot afford payment of electricity bills generated through Smart Meters.
The protests blocked the Hawal road as they marched on the road against the move. In the last few weeks, there has been a spike in protests against Smart Meters.BAN
