Jammu, June 10:

Police on Tuesday said that they have registered a fresh FIR after an accused tried to escape during weapon recovery, which led to a firing incident in Jammu.

In a handout issued here, the police said that in continuation of yesterday’s incident, wherein an attempt to escape by the accused during weapon recovery, led to a firing incident, a fresh case FIR No. 54/2025 under Sections 109, 132, 307, 121, and 111 of the BNS has been registered at Police Station Bishnah.

The arms and ammunition recovered on the disclosure of accused Bagh Hussain @Baghu @Sunny—including one pistol, four live rounds, and one sharp-edged axe (kulhadi)—have been formally seized and secured as case property in Case FIR No. 53/2025 of Police Station Miran Sahib.

The accused, who sustained injuries during the earlier incident, is currently out of danger and recovering well under medical supervision, he said.

Further holistic investigation of the case is in progress. All his links will also be scrutinised minutely, reads the statement.
